Ujjain to Get ₹1,900 Crore Pod Taxi Project, Set to Become First Pilgrimage City With Metro-Like Facility
A ₹1,900 crore pod taxi scheme is proposed to transform Ujjain into a smart city. Two 25.46-kilometer routes will have 13 stations. Before Simhastha 2028, this automated, driverless electric vehicle system will provide metro-like facilities to Ujjain. Tourism and religious pilgrimage will be boosted, and traffic will be reduced. Ujjain will be the first religious city in the country to operate pod taxis.
