IRF demanded the Indian government remove GST on helmets, currently this much tax has to be paid on purchase
IRF on Wednesday urged the GST Council and the Finance Ministry to reduce the tax on helmets from 18 percent to 0. The International Road Federation said that most two-wheeler drivers are economically weak and fall in the low-income group and they prefer to buy cheap and poor-quality helmets which are unsafe.
