Former PM of Thailand Thaksin returned to his homeland after 15 years, sentenced to 8 years in prison by the Supreme Court
Thaksin Shinawatra: Thailand's Supreme Court has sentenced the country's former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to eight years in prison. Thaksin returned home on Tuesday (22 August) after years of self-exile abroad. Thaksin briefly appeared at Bangkok's international airport on Tuesday morning to greet his supporters after arriving in a private jet with his family.
